Dennis's paintings are inspired by both nature and mythologies, by working in series he feels his way into variations. Each series is ongoing and not closed to being explored further in the future.

Dennis works in an abstract, expressionist form verging on surrealism. He attributes titles to his paintings as an inital mechanism to open the door for the viewer to engage with and explore the piece. He intends for the viewer to follow the work in front of them in a way that relates to or stirs something within them, deliberately leaving his own attributions loose.
He is currently working on a new series, based around his piece 'New Jerucalem'.
