New members to the print workshop are expected to complete an induction process of up to two days, depending on experience, led by an existing member. Various courses such as etching, collagraphy, relief and mono-printing can be arranged on an ad hoc basis and specialist tuition is available.

The cooperative has members at various stages of technical and artistic development and their expertise is visible through their work which ranges from traditional etching to vibrantly coloured jigsaw prints. They work predominantly in intaglio and relief printing methods, i.e. etching, linocut, jigsaw, chine-collé and woodblock engraving. See CFS Print Workshop Members for the current list of members.

Equipment

  • Rochat etching press, bed size 60 x 120 cms.

  • Columbian Press for relief printing such as lino or woodblock.

  • Proofing press and one large pinch press.

  • A separate room with a fume cabinet and an air-extractor for etching plates with acid.

Cuckoo Farm Studios Print Workshop

Membership fees

  • Full membership: £300 per year, allowing unlimited access to the Workshop.

  • Tier 2 membership: £110 per year, plus £6 per half day session use of the Workshop.

Materials

Basic materials are available on site and are paid for at cost. Many artists obtain their own specialist papers. Some tools are also available.
