At present my practice is primarily focused on ceramic figurative sculpture, and I am drawn to the uncanny aspect of figurative sculpture and the kind of instinctual or visceral reaction it might provoke. With the figure there is an instant and innate recognition and physical empathy, and I suppose for that reason the figure functions for me as quite a powerful psychological hook to draw the viewer in. 

For me sculpture is about the relationship between thought and materiality, and in my own work I hope to combine conceptual rigour and a deep engagement with process and craft.
